עַכָּבָה, (preced.) hinderance, prevention, delay. Yeb. XIII, 3 כל ע׳ שהיא מן האיש any delay (in remarrying) of which the husband is the cause (v. ib. 108ᵃ). Meg. 21ᵃ אין ישיבה אלא לשון ע׳ yashab has the meaning of tarrying.—עַכָּבַת יין retention of wine, drops of wine remaining on the rim. Ab. Zar. V, 7 (72ᵃ) עכ׳ (Ar., a. Y. ed. עֲקֵבַת; Mishn.
