*עוּכָּבַנְיָין, (v. עַכָּבִית) a dish of thistles (Cynara Syriaca), the eating of which generates an evil smell of the body (v. Löw Pfl. p. 292, quot. fr. Dioscorides). Lam. R. to IV, 9 היו מתים מריח ע׳ they died from the smell of the thistles (which they ate during the siege).
