I. —3)to put on wood, to make the flame rise; [cmp. עָלָהHif.,] to start a fire, to heat. Bets. 32ᵃ, a. e. מַסִּיקִין בכלים וכ׳ you may, on the Holy Day, use wooden vessels for heating &c.
