חֲשִׁיכָה, (v. חָשַׁךְ IHif.) awaiting the nightfall (on the Sabbath), approaching the Sabbath limit in day-time and waiting there for the night for the transaction of business. Sabb. 151ᵃ רשאי אני בחֲשִׁיכָתוֹ (Mish. להחשיך עליו) I am permitted to take the preliminary steps for it before nightfall.
