חֲטַט I, to dig, hollow out. Ḥull. 25ᵃ; Sabb. 103ᵃ דחַט קפיזא וכ׳ Ar. (ed. דחק) he hollowed out a K’fiza (smaller measure) whereas the material was large enough for a Kab. Pes. 28ᵃ (prov.) כפא דחט נגרא בגויה נשרי חרדלא ונישלוף Ms. M.
