אֲרִישְׂתָּא, (ארשׁ, v. ארס) prop. obligation, hence (sub. סעודת) a meal which creates an obligation, a meal which is given in the expectation of receiving invitations from the reciprocating members of a social club, opp. פורענא the entertainment in reciprocation for invitations received.
