אִיטָא אִיטָא, (ἦτα) the letter (η) of the Greek Alphabet, the numerical value of which is eight; used in the way of a phonetic play (ἤτω, or ἰτά as though an adj. verbale of ἰέναι) to indicate going or death. Gen. R. s. 14, beg.
