I, 12) לא תהא קורא סמי"ך אלא שי"ן אֲחַפֵּשׁ וכ׳ read not the word with Samme but with Shin, ‘I shall deliver &c.’; Yalk. Zeph. 567. Pu. - חוּפָּשׁto be set free. Kerith. 11ᵃ (ref. to Lev. XIX, 20) מכלל דהוא ח׳ this implies that he (her betrothed) has been liberated, is a freedman.
